Philly Cream was formed as a "studio" group made up of Art Austin, Brandy Wells and members of Fat Larry's Band. Because both Art and Brandy were parts of other groups who were under contract to record labels they were never able to tour in support of the two albums they recorded. Their music was very popular in dance clubs both domestically and in Europe where they still get quite a bit of play. That was then, this is now.
Today Art Austin has returned as the leader of Philly Cream backed by veteran female vocalist Adrienne Aje and Simone Talley with a fresh, new exciting sound. They are "old school with a new twist and a positive message". The trio have recorded 18 new songs for Society Hill Records including the title track of their new cd "Groovin'" and "It's A Beautiful Monin'" both originally done by the Young Rascals and the Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes hit "Wake Up Everybody" originally with Teddy Pendergrass on lead vocals. All material produced by Butch Ingam.
Evan Ginsburg, host of his "Legenda" TV show in New York said "Their music is timeless. Good music is forever". This time Philly Cream plans on doing it right and touring both domestically and internationally to appear before their fans who have never had a chance to see them in person.
